What is self worth? 

By the definition, self worth refers to “a sense of one’s own value as a human being”.

Do you have a sense of your value as a human? 
Not a value linked to a job, or a relationship?

It’s not life coach woo woo stuff, it’s the essence of our beliefs in ourselves. And it matters because as Sandy Hale so gracefully puts it:

“Self-worth is so vital to your happiness, if you don’t feel good about you, it’s hard to feel good about anything else.”

Take it a step further. If you don’t feel good about you, you will never achieve all you were destined to. Your limiting beliefs about self-worth are holding you back but you can change that.

B is for Behaviour(s)

It’s incredible how many people have limiting beliefs about self-worth. Each week, I see instances where that narrative in someone's mind is holding them, making them feel stuck…

I only ever have

  • bad relationships

  • dead-end jobs

  • circles of inactivity and poor health

How your limiting beliefs manifest

I see it in people's approach to life where their belief of “I am not worth it” leads to them thinking “it’s not worth the effort, because change never happens for me.”

It really looks like a big red sign in front of someone, each time they are about to embark on important actions, the sign flashes. It says:

“This is not for you, you don’t deserve this, give up.” or “C’mon. You are not worthy of that life.”

NOW that is some BS right there!

S is for Strategies

You may have fabricated these limiting beliefs about self-worth overtime but having a positive view of your self-worth is crucial to enjoying life to its fullest. It certainly will impact your ability to want to take on hard tasks in life and overcome challenges.

Viewing yourself as not being worthy of love or success will ultimately deliver you less of a life lived. Knowing you are worthy of success, love, an amazing LIFE can shift your energy and attract the very best to you.

Think about your entourage. We all have that friend or family member who we wish could see their true worth as a human because if they could… the sky would be the limit for them.

7 ways to make a positive impact on your self-worth

  1. Embrace compliments given to you and give yourself compliments to re-enforce them.

  2. Reduce or eliminate self-criticism. Just because you made a mistake doesn’t mean you need to be harsh and toxic about it.

  3. Speaking of toxic, remove toxic relationships, people and environments from your life. This might be difficult but you are worth the effort, you are so worth it PLEASE surround yourself with supportive, positive and worthy people.

  4. Create a health routine to feel amazing daily.

  5. Recognise your strengths and shout them out loud each day.

  6. Recognise your weaknesses, own them as they are part of you… however create a 90-day plan to bridge the gap between weaknesses and strengths.

  7. Take the time to do things that give you a thriving feeling.
